i was browsing the web and stumbled upon a great blog called the real alter ego..i read up on it and saw some pretty cool entries..this one spoke beautifully about creative minds  by comparing creative people to mad scientists..check it out..thank you annabell for allowing me to post this on my site..

I find it that the most creative people are something like mad scientists. Once they enter into their element a magical transformation takes place. They become an entirely different entity that cares nothing of the outside world; they care only for the elaborate chemical experiment about to ensue.

Behind closed doors, covered in an invisible cloak I’ve witnessed the brilliance of the greatest masterminds of our time. Submerged in their work the most vibrant light illuminates their core. Eccentric beyond imagination you cannot stare directly into the light because it will blind you. Only the unimaginative do not understand what is taking place. A wise man will shield their eyes in appreciation.

The mad scientist has no particular defined set of attributes. They are completely in sync with the diverse environment, like a spider on its web. Feeling everything, they absorb all of its energy. Unable to contain it they yield a product so great that its true reach is not only to the far corners of their spider web, it translates beyond- to the greater web of spider webs in their snow globe.

The power of the scientist is not in being the creator of this substance. In reality, the substance belongs to nature. The power of the scientist lies in their discipline to be able to mentally detach themselves from their environment. Becoming utterly unemotional, they unconsciously emit a substance of great emotional intensity. They cease all generalized anxieties and allow their inner self to emerge. Clearing a path, they light a fire individually unique to themselves; never to be repeated by another. Any attempt to do so is left for the absurd and the impossible---sailors lost at sea in desperate need of a compass.

ive never gotten tattoed by any famous artists..i dont really even like gettin inked..but one thing i can say is that every tattoo of mine has been done  by a friend..thats what i like..at some point or another..ive had a great friendship with the people who have inked me..my last tattoo was a traditional rose done by carolina mansur..a chick i met a while back and slowly but surely has become a really great friend..still in her beginning stages of tattooing..with under 2 years under her belt...i know that very quickly she will progress and be an amazing tattoo artist..thank you very much carolina..i love the piece..cant wait to get more work done by you..here are some pics of her tattooing me..yes..it hurt like hell..yes i look like a chump getttin tatted..

HELP HAITI

im not much to watch the news..i don't even really watch tv..so for the most part...im usually lost with current events..but lately ive heard about the tragedy going on in haiti. to be completely honest with everyone..it has really touched me..these people are goin thru something no one would ever want to go thru..they are strong people..but many are dying..many are hurt..ive seen pictures and it looks like a war zone out there..now its time for us to come together.time for us to respect our fellow man..we need to help these people who are injured and dying..these people are hungry.. they have no medicine..they have lost everything..their homes..vehicles..hospitals..and worst of all they have lost lives..lets be human people..lets open up our hearts and help out..

i found out that the good people at catalyst hip hop wil be collecting canned food..clothing..money..medicine...ect.. to send out to haiti..i will be collecting friday and all day saturday (jan15 and 16)to help..if any one has any clothing shoes..canned food or anthing that they feel they would like to donate..please get at me and i will make sure it gets donated....as an indvidual..we can make a change..but as a team..we can change  the world...lets make this happen everyone..

BLACKBOOK SESSIONS

heres a little video of yours truly doin a black book for a friend..as i was doing it..i came up with an idea..throughout the next few weeks..i will try to get different artists from all over south florida to come by and do  little something in my personal blackbook..i will record it and put it on youtube to further expose the great talent that we have down here in south florida...wether its a drawing..portrait..character..piece..tag..or throwup..i would like to document the process behind the final craft..get at me homies if you guys would like to participate in this little project..heres Blackbook Sessions 1

this week i had the pleasure of meeting and tattooing actor idris elba...what he wanted was very simple..just some small script with his kids name..while i was there i just touched up an older script on top of it...i also tattooed his son..which wanted a lion to be his first tattoo..so i pulled out the markers and drew away on his arm..im happy with the outcome..have a good flight back to london homie..heres a little interview with idris from american gangster..

i was sitting at my desk drawing last night..after  very long day..and i decided to shower and watch a movie..i went thru my movies and decided to watch  "belly"..ive always found this movie funny because the acting was really bad in it..the whole movie looks like a music video..and then i wondered why i still kept it..and i realized why when i saw the last scene in the movie..i often look around at todays youth and find myself criticizing them more and more..i dont like to..but sometimes i find it necessary..sometimes i feel that younger generations are lost..gettin worse by the year..influenced by modern rap artists who have nothing positive to say..and definitely dont give any type of proper guidance with their music..i often feel like ignorance is the "cool" thing to be now..at least while i was growing up..i had nas saying " an architect, doctor, maybe an actress..but nothing comes easy it takes much practice.." or even jayz expressing respect for his mother when saying.."thanks for letting me bloom, for your wisdom, for your womb..for the roof over my head, for my shoes, for my bed. for the most important lesson in life was when you said..strive for what you believe in..set goals and you can achieve them.."the point is that..things have changed..and after watching this movie again..i felt the need to post the last scene because i liked the message it sent..hope fully you guys like it..

i remember as a kid riding the metro rail..skipping class..and bumpin blackstar on the headphones..catching tags on the bus windows...the rail windows..and running around the streets with nothing but a book bag..some chronic ..markers and cheap spraypaint..this blackstar album reminds me of that era...evcerytime i listen to this album it reminds me of where i came from..it reminds me of that time..those people..and all the grimey places my old dirty adidas walked thru..heres a little taste of the old...along with some brand new mos def and talib kweli shit..enjoy.
